In the symbology of the Great Plains, the eight-pointed star is the Morning Star — the planet Venus — which rises just before dawn to lead the way toward light and knowledge. This design draws on the star-quilt tradition that flourished among Plains peoples in the 1800s, among them the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakoda.

Here the star becomes a bold central medallion radiating points of color — a signal of new beginnings, renewal, and hope.

Full length unlined duster with a fur-lined hood, fur cuffs, lined raglan sleeves, waist tie belt with loops and lined patch pockets.

Body of duster is made from Pendleton's Morningstar Blanket. Napped Pendleton blankets: 82% Wool, 18% Cotton. Our Mongolian Fur is a shaggy long hair Mongolian sheep shearling.
