The Stetson x Lindsey Thornburg partnership brings together two American heritage brands—Stetson and Pendleton—each with more than 160 years of history. At the heart of the collection lies The Gatekeeper, an archival Pendleton blanket originally introduced in 1935, that Stetson and Lindsey Thornburg had the honor of reworking with a reinterpreted color story. Distinguished by the eight-pointed star, The Gatekeeper draws inspiration from Lakota tradition—often symbolizing the Morning Star, the gatekeeper of the day who shows the way to light and knowledge

The Gatekeeper is an archival Pendleton design, originally introduced in 1935; rooted in Pendleton’s storied heritage, the pattern centers around an eight-pointed star — a symbol often found in Lakota tradition, representing the Morning Star, the “gatekeeper of the day,” guiding the way toward light and knowledge. This design is a classic example of a Centerpoint pattern, defined by its balanced symmetry and a central motif aligned within a bold horizontal band — a hallmark of Pendleton’s early masterworks.
